Retrofit Assessment Services

Retrofit Assessors are trained and qualified to assess the scope, risk level and action plan for your home. We undertake a retrofit assessment for dwellings in accordance with PAS 2035. PAS 2035 is a specification for what is called ‘whole-house’ or ‘whole building’ retrofit.  This is an approach to the installation of energy efficiency measures (EEMs) which takes into account the requirement of the entire building, both from a technical standpoint and considering factors like occupancy comfort. The activities completed within the retrofit assessment include the production of the assessment, a detailed floor plan, a condition report and an occupancy assessment.

An official PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessment is the first step in the process of carrying out retrofit installation work in order to understand what measures are required to improve the energy efficiency of your property. A site retrofit assessment visit usually takes between 4 and 8  hours to complete depending on the complexity or number of Energy Efficient Measures being considered, the type of measures proposed, the age and condition of the property etc,

  • Retrofitting is simply adding something to your property that wasn’t included, or maybe even needed, at the time your property was built. In this instance, Residential Retrofitting largely refers to improvements that are necessary for older properties to improve their energy efficiency. This can be achieved by implementing a number of measures and could include replacing a heating system, improving the ventilation and air quality, utilising renewable technologies, improving insulation or all of these

  • The aim of Retrofit Assessments is to have a qualified team of experts in place to carry out these changes, manage the process, and provide a handover to the property owner upon completion. The property will then be more energy efficient, cost effective and ultimately greener to benefit the environment we live in.

  • The average cost of our retrofit assessment services will be in the region of  £250 - £500 for the initial retrofit assessment. The retrofit assessor cost includes a detailed assessment of your property and a report showing the findings.

  • Of course you may not know if retrofit works are required.  Perhaps a Draft EPC is needed initially to determine what your EPC rating is (for example if you are a Landlord and you need a band rating E).  If this process determines that the property does not make the desired EPC banding then the next retrofit assessment step can start.  If it does meet the EPC level banding required then there is an option to merely stop the retrofit assessment process and just lodge the EPC according to the EPC service rate.
