EPC Services

EPC stands for Energy Performance Certificate. The EPC provides information about the energy efficiency of a building and rates the energy efficiency of a building on a scale from A to G, with A being the most energy efficient and G being the least energy efficient. The certificate must be produced by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor who conducts an inspection of the building and considers factors such as the construction, heating, lighting and insulation.

EPCs are required for all buildings that are being sold or rented in the UK. The purpose of the EPC is to provide information to potential buyers or tenants about the energy efficiency of the building, and to encourage the implementation of energy-saving measures. It also helps to raise awareness of the environmental impact of buildings and therefore promotes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
-
Starting from April 2025, rental properties in England and Wales will be required to have an EPC rating of at least 'C’ (currently ‘E’) in order to be let to new tenants. This means that landlords will need to ensure that their properties meet certain energy efficiency standards, such as upgrading insulation, heating and lighting systems, in order to comply with the new regulations.
-
The new minimum EPC rating requirement is part of the UK government's plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the energy efficiency of buildings. It is estimated that this new requirement could help to reduce energy bills for tenants and could save up to 7.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030.
We will arrange to carry out the EPC survey at a time that is convenient to you. On an average domestic property this will take around one hour and we aim to produce the certificate within 48 hours of the EPC survey - you will be emailed a link to your EPC on the official register. Your EPC will be valid for a period of 10 years.

Where retrofit assessment work is also required as an extension of the EPC, these can both be undertaken at the same time, thereby saving cost.
An EPC must be produced by a qualified ‘Domestic Energy Assessor’ who is registered under an approved certification scheme. Verity Retrofit are accredited by Elmhurst Energy, who regularly audit our work to ensure quality and compliance.
Add £20 for each extension including loft conversions. Additional travel charges will apply for journeys outside Oxford City limits. Additional charge of £20 applies if a ladder is required on site for loft access.
If a professional floorplan is required in addition to an EPC this is charged at £1/sqm with a miniumum charge of £75.
